The religious movement nowadays is like it is becoming a fanatic. The situations and circumstances of the actions of these sect of Christians is rather alarming. Is there no freedom of association again? Must all gathering be termed or associated with some evil notations? This is getting to the climax. Enough is enough.
The situation in Fupre calls for a rethink. What is worth doing is worth doing well. If nothing is done about this ugly trend, things can deteriorate or skew to an anomaly. Social gatherings is allowed anywhere. The one in FUPRE should be no different. People have the right to socialized, have meetings and hold parties. Everything per see is a social entity even the church.
The 'rain of fire' on what some christian denomination carried out on a social event organised in the Ivory tower is unacceptable. This acts of abuses, curses, negative paintings and insults in the name of prayers is uncalled for.
Jesus himself attended a marriage in Cana in Galilee. He attended as a guest with all the virtues and powers He possessed. He observed and participated in the marriage rites. He did not say or act like 'this is not the synagogue so I should disorganise it'.
He got himself involved in the activities of the day and even saved the day when they ran short of wine. He couldn't have attended if He chose. So if you think attending an event would pollute you, whats the need of going there. And moreover, you can not because of your brother or sister that is there disorganised an event. The right of every lawful events must be respected.
We are not fighting a religious war. Everything must not be fought at.
If you think, it is corrupting your moral grounds, caution your
faithfuls on abstinence. It is unwise for a show of religious strength
to be displayed at a venue meant for all and sundry. The tagging of
social events in the citadel of learning with some damaging imageries is
uncalled for. This should be discouraged. Parallel events should not be
held to cause pandemonium.
Events with two religious divides should not be setup to cause religious attacks and abuse. This support of right to lawful gathering and association by no means encourages immoral acts. Every practices that stands against the the general good of the students should be discouraged.
In conclusion, the act of using one's reggae to spoil another's blues should be eliminated. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.
